Maximizing Business with AI - GPT and its potential in the corporate world

ChatGPT has seen rapid growth, showcasing to everyone just how much artificial intelligence can deliver, especially how eager we are for truly disruptive technologies.

Despite so much interest in experimenting with the chat platform, GPT can be even more incredible when thought of as an integration with corporate systems and solutions.

OpenAI provides an API through which we can implement valuable interactions with GPT, using all that intelligence for our demands, such as customer service, data analysis, decision making, and even task automation. It's the integration of GPT with our systems.

In this post, I comment on some of the possible uses of GPT to inspire you to imagine beyond.

Training GPT with Your Own Content

Where there is a large volume of information and knowledge, there is a good opportunity for the adoption of GPT (and other AI models).

A way to train GPT to respond by consulting company information is using embeddings.

In this way, it is possible to "feed" the AI with all the existing knowledge, and from this initial training respond only with these insights.

The advantage is using all the power of understanding and argumentation of GPT to talk about the information that matters to the company. It can be used to respond to customers, your internal team, users of your own system, or website visitors.

Smart Chatbots

OpenIA gained immense popularity with ChatGPT, so it is expected to think of interactions in the format of chats. And having GPT as a chatbot, for whatever use, can bring competitive advantages to businesses.

Empathy, availability, ease of interpretation, and argumentation. We're not talking about a customer service robot with predefined paths, we're talking about an AI capable of discussing and going into details, serving as well as (or better than) humans.

In any case, there may come a time when the user requests to speak with a human, if the conversation is not reaching where it needs to go.

Reducing Workforce or Gaining Performance?

The market is constantly changing, and what we cannot do is stand still waiting to see what will happen.

Recently, the CEO of Duukan, Suumit Shah, caused a great commotion on social media by announcing that he had reduced his support team by 90% with the adoption of AI. A reduction of 85% of the company's support costs, in addition to reducing the time it takes to serve customers (who then don't have to wait for an attendant).

I think that the adoption of smarter tools will give us more time to do what is really important, thereby increasing our overall performance and reducing the time consumed with less important tasks.

Customer Relations and Even Prospecting

Not only serving a customer in support but also being able to proactively interact with customers, assisting in the buying journey or talking about new products or services that the company offers.

If we take a step back, AI can be used for lead generation and qualification, and even for prospecting potential customers.

Content Creation

Another great use of generative AIs is in content creation, and there are various uses in this approach.

Whether it's writing a memo, drafting content for a blog post, or even the draft of a contract, GPT can be very valuable in proposing an initial structure to be worked on.

At this point, the recommendation is always to validate what was created, avoiding use without careful revision.

Summarization

Even long before GPT became known, Artificial Intelligence was already widely used to summarize textual information, as well as numerical and statistical data.

A common use with Generative AI is to create summaries of meetings to facilitate subsequent consultations, and maintain a history of activities resulting from the conversation.

Thinking of companies with larger customer bases, analyzing customer feedback is a possible utility.

Through some implementation, it is possible to evaluate the sentiment of each feedback received, determine if a return to the customer is necessary, and develop action plans based on a large volume of reviews.

Another relevant use is the processing of news sources in order to extract strategic information.

Generative Reports and Analytics

In some businesses, the preparation of reports is a very costly operation, where a lot of time is consumed, and occasionally the information generated is not even consumed.

Using AI to generate reports, following predefined parameters is an incredible use for these tools, as it reduces time consumption in this type of activity, leaving more time for what really matters.

Thinking further, we can convert all these data into insights and valuable analytics information.

Recruitment and Selection

Being interviewed by a robot may not be the best part of a selection process, but, looking at it from the other side, an initial classification of candidates, using AI to distinguish who has the minimum experience or necessary focus for the job, can be good.

Imagine an AI that asks two or three simple questions, and already indicates how suitable the candidate is for the position, we are talking about better using the time of human resources for interviews with a greater chance of success.

Health Diagnostics and Treatments

Over the years, AI has proven to be highly effective in its uses for health. Whether in image analysis, data crossing, or diagnostics and treatment analysis, this technology is here to stay.

Langchain and Agents

What everyone knows are chat-based AIs, like ChatGPT, Bing, and Bart. However, a technology that has been gaining ground and will be (where I believe) the most significant changes and results occur, is LangChain.

LangChain, with the use of agents, allows for the creation of systems with the capacity to act autonomously. In other words, beyond thinking about which actions need to be taken, it can effectively act and carry out these tasks.

For instance, given a task to be performed, the AI realizes that it will need to fetch information from two different company systems, send some emails to gather other information, and check a person's schedule for free slots to book an appointment.

With the use of these agents, this type of step-by-step interaction is possible and feasible.

Here we talk about lengthy activities with multiple steps, interactions, reflections, not just a question/answer.

Voice Use

As if it wasn't enough for generative AIs to respond in text, they can also be used using voice.

Other providers already offered voice-to-text conversion, but OpenAI has also brought this solution in a way that's easy to integrate into existing code.

In addition to being able to "listen" to what is requested, with one more integration, it is also possible to respond by voice.

Risks

Not thinking about AI domination over humans 😅, in the current stage of available technologies, we can

A real risk is the generation of incorrect information. The technical term for this is hallucination when the AI invents things that don't exist.

From a programming standpoint, there are parameters to be set that determine how much the AI should stick strictly to what it was trained on, or be creative and inventive. The less inventive it is, the less chance there is of hallucinating.

When it comes to content generation, the greater risk is intellectual property, as we may not always have the sources from which the information was obtained.

Conclusion

GPT is more than just another AI tool; it's a catalyst for innovation, a tool to expand our creativity, and increase our potential.

The future of AI is full of possibilities, and we can (and should) use it in the best way for our businesses, maximizing our results.

Whether you're familiar with the technology or just starting to venture into the world of AI, I hope my post has sparked your curiosity and inspired you to imagine a new use for generative AI.

Developing a system is a project full of details, and estimating its size before making a proposal or starting its development is essential. An error in understanding the duration and work required in a long project can mean failure, including the annulment of any financial results.
